You didn’t have to do it, but…

It’s so nice to get some good news on a personal level during these crazy economic times where you just got to be glad to be working and drawing a pay check. And mine arrived courtesy of all of you. I just wanted to personally thank you for making the afternoon show here at rock 101 (that I’m so fortunate to be the host of) #1 in the ratings once again.  I can’t thank ya’ll enough for supporting what I’ve tried to bring to the airwaves here in the upstate and for all the support you give us all here at Rock 101. We are only as good as you help us be with your ideas and through your support of our efforts here in the community. Anitra, Larry, Stoney and all our weekend crew have become a very close nit group almost like family and we couldn’t do what we do without your constant and very loyal support, so thank you all for making rock 101 WROQ parts of your lives.      You know one of the reasons I enjoy being in the upstate is the great friends I’ve made here and how much it reminds me of all my friends I grew up with back in the “great white north”.      And brings me to another thing I’m so grateful for, the ability to be heard on the radio all around the world via the internet. It’s so nice to know that my family and friends can get to hear me do my thing no matter where they live. In the past few weeks I’ve gotten e-mails from a couple of friends who wanted to comment on certain things or songs on my show and it just really gave me a great lift to know that my friends in California, Texas, Michigan, Florida, and even Oregon can listen in on what I’m doing every day. They all still think I’m a jack ass but at least they can check in and know I still am! One of them, my late brother’s best friend told me he listens to me every day and that along with the fact that my daughter in Texas can hear me, and at five years old can actually listen to podcast of her daddy on her I-pod shuffle!      And despite my football team stinking up the whole Midwest this year, my Hockey team is off to another great start and I’m grateful for that too.      I just realized that maybe I should have saved this blog until we are closer to thanksgiving, but I guess maybe it’s good to stop and give thanks for good things in your life a little more often than once a year. It reminds you of the good things you have in your life!

Hey Joe what you doing with that…

I’m going to be short and sweet this week on the blogage.Just a couple of things…Screw you,  to those in people in the banking and business world who through selfishness and fraud have started to cost regular good hard working people they’re job’s. What did these people do to lose jobs? Not a damn thing! Watching people go through these hard times reminds me of growing up in Michigan and watching friends families go through this hell over and over to the point where I just wanted to move to a place where things were better and I did. Now as this economic down turn brought on by a small group of deceptive greed mongers and a lazy government that didn’t look out for us the  people the “regular Joe’s” sweeps across the country it makes everyday life take on a new ugly look, survive anyway you can. My Parents worked so long, did so much for our family, and just wanted to retire and live a relaxing life, enjoying the grand kids and life. But just like so many retired people they now have to live scared and scrimp to get by.When will we finally realize that we have people representing us in Washington who have no intention of doing the right things? And even when they all get exposed for dropping the ball, they  find ways to add pork spending to the bill to save us which it didn’t do anything close to that it just set up a plan to basically nationalize banking which folks is one step closer to Socialism! I know some of you have bought into the idea of re-distribution of wealth and the giant government nipple for all to draw from, but it’s only appealing when you are suffering and when you feel like you’ve been screwed or owed something. Hey we are all feeling that way right now, but you have to resist the temptation, because in the long run we will all loose, by having to pay higher taxes!  Let’s put our effort into finding good people to run this government who will look out for our interest, not who will tax us to poverty then give us some stuff to get by on, and tell you not to complain because big daddy government will give what you need.     And if you don’t think the media in this country is biased, then explain to me how they analyzed, investigated, scrutinized and then fried JOE the plumber with hours of national news coverage, and then gave one news story about voter fraud being perpetrated by A.C.O.R.NIn several states, thousands of fake voter registrations, a cover up andState governments with democrats in power or as attorney generals dragging their feet to try to investigate. Joe the plumber is you, me and everybody in the middle out here folks. He’s made mistakes, has problems and is scared just like all of us. And do you see how the media and leftist elitists feel about you, me, and Joe? And how they care about cheating, lying, and fraud when it happens on the other side of the fence? Their side of the fence that is?

Time for a Cool change

Dear IPTA members and all of you in the Clemson nation. I’m here today to try to help take your pain away.      You are in the middle of a weekly torture session. Your football team is letting you down AGAIN and you need a change. When you see the colors Orange and purple you start to feel ill, the name Bowden brings a sense of anger in you that before was only reserved for gamecock fans. You have all the gear you bought, your car is covered in stickers; you can hear people laughing at you when you’re in the grocery store.       Here’s an offer to you on how to become a happy sports fan in the fall and winter. Start getting into Detroit Redwings Hockey!  The wings have been playing hockey longer than I think you’ve been playing football. They are one of the most consistent sports teams in the past 20 years; they just hoisted the 11th Stanley cup Championship banner into the rafter at Joe Louis arena last night and have almost the whole team back from last year. They are poised to make another run for the cup this year too! And  Think about it, You can still tailgate but just do it in your drive way and you can do it like 3- 4 times a week cause they play several games each week. Look I know hockey is Foreign to a lot of you but I also have a way to help you learn the game, talk the talk and feel a part of a winning or-gan-IZ-A sion(That’s how Canadians say organization). Adopt a Wings fan for the season. You just have to give them a little beer Deer meat and cheese products and they will guide you through your journey to hockey heaven. Think of the fun and all the joy you’ll experience as your Redwings grind through a long winter winning night after night and then the long nights watching the wings in a playoff game on the west coast that lasts till like 3am if you’re lucky. Sure you can’t skate and you say “Ya’ll” and we say “you guys” eh! Heck we could make this the southern command for the Red Wings nation, and eventually we could put death Valley to good use by turning the field frozen for rec league hockey  and get more giant screens in the stadium, and instead of the millions spent on the football team they would only have to get hooked up to the N.H.L. network and the N.H.L. package so we could all watch games together a “the Joe of the South”.      I’m just trying to help yaaaa’aaaallll  get through the rest of the season and well sure stir up a little more interest for the greatest hockey team in all da world der eh!      Or maybe I’m just starting a new plot for the north to invade the south? Well either way it’s better than watching what watched on the T.V. last night, EH!
