Are we having fun yet???

One thing you got to say about the “New World” of Obama and the so called unbiased press is this; its sure fun watching all the dancing, deception and dodging that is taking place. From the beginning of this presidency I just felt in my gut that it would be would an interesting sociological study in human behavior. How would the press handle the onslaught of controversial changes that would be coming from this administration and how would the voting public who fell in love with this man react as well.       It wasn’t real clear how the public would feel or how it would be covered until the Tea Party issue. Then it became very clear how this was going to be a long four years for this country and for many people who were already struggling just to get by. Many of you voted for this “change” and well you got it. I know many of the things that this President has offered up as change or as new solutions may just make some of you happy still. Government run Health care, strengthening the unions by strong-arming the “rich” investors and bond holders of the auto companies into taking bad deals that favor the unions but leave the companies the union members work for hanging by a thread or at the very least dependent on foreign dollars to stay alive. And the whole bail out deal with the banks. Changing the term we use to describe what we are doing in the Middle East the battle formally known as the war on terror. And this latest fight over releasing documents and photo’s from our alleged bad behavior when it came to dealing with enemy combatants. Or the newly proposed tax on items that contain sugar in them.     To me this president has already done a lot of things I felt he would do and therefore didn’t vote for him. And I’m not surprised how the press has spread the thick manure of positive support for anything he does. What surprises me is that more people aren’t a little more upset that President Obama lied or deceived them into voting for him. Or that People like Janine Garafalo would call anyone who exercised they’re right to freedom of expression and protested the proposed tax increases and use of our tax dollars as bigots or racist’s. Being against something like raising taxes makes you racists? Or how about the trash mouthed skanky and in my opinion never been funny Wanda Sykes telling a joke in front of the press core and the president  accusing Rush Limbaugh of being a terrorist and wishing he’d die while the president and the press core yucked it up at the “joke” ! Look I don’t care if you hate Limbaugh you have to admit that was at least rude and insensitive let alone disgusting. Gee dare I say it was UN P.C.? Yet nobody seemed to giving a flying * about it. What Miss U.S.A. said got more press coverage than those remarks did.       I say all this for one reason. Yes I did support our previous president but was never afraid to be critical of his mistakes or the things I didn’t agree with. But you people out there who are hiding because you just don’t want to face up to the fact that you voted for this president and that he’s already made you mad are just not doing anybody any good. Sure you voted for him but that doesn’t mean you can’t disagree or get upset about some of his decisions.  You rode Bush right out the door and hey a few times I was right too there unhappy with his decisions like you.  But if you just take everything our current president dishes out like you wanted it, or are embarrassed to say you don’t agree with something he’s doing then you just aren’t ready to be a real American. I know you all don’t want universal health care, I know many of you don’t want higher taxes, want our country to be safe from terror attacks and I know you want the job market to get better, but at what cost? HMMMMMMM?Just cause you voted for him doesn’t mean you have to follow him over the cliff! How about being honest and speaking up before we’re all drug over the damn thing with the Lemmings you’re herding with right now!

I agree with you for the most part…I did not vote for Obama either. I have a family full of veterans and I liked the energy stance that McCain/Palin ticket toted. I am happy to be around during the time when we saw history being made by voting in an African American President. Let’s see how he does….
With that being said, I must make a comment about the war. Yes, we are still at war and no one is happy about it and the losses that we have suffered. But none of us would have been happy if George W sat on his hands and did nothing…something had to be done. I believe in my heart that because our troops are over there, terrorists are not over here. That brings me some sense of security. Now if my son were in the Armed Services I may feel differently about it.
I have to tell you that I appreciate the little things that have changed so far in the Obama administration. I was recently laid off from my job (Thank you industrial sector) and there is a federal subsidy to help me with my COBRA payments. That means a lot to me. Unemployment benefits have been extended for some. They are trying not to cut important programs and they are paying attention to the greedy CEO’s now to make sure they do not take us any further down the tube…
Yes, the housing market and job market are in the toilet. Yes, we are still at war. It will probably get worse before it gets better. I care about all of these issues.
As far as the Tea Party and the comments there…it struck me as more of a “roast” and that is why those comments were okay. Did you hear all of the chuckles and laughs?? And I’m sorry, but Wanda Sykes is hilarious no matter where she is… No one mentioned Obama talking about his wife’s arms being shown all over the country and I do not care about his family dog to be honest. We seem to be more concerned about Carrie Prejean and her topless photos. How sad… Who really cares about her losing her crown? Just the young lady who is next in line for it. Is reality TV actually more important to us today? NO!!! I realize that these are hard times and a lot of us cannot pull ourselves up from our boot straps and and get out there to do it all again. I realize that some are more comfortable living on the government tit than actually making a living. They may be more comfortable suing someone than actually making an honest day’s living. Well I was not raised that way and we are all in this together! Let’s start acting like it!
Thank you BB, always good to listen when you get up on your soapbox. Now I will get down from mine:)
